Better Energy Financing (BEF) Scheme (2014)
‘The Better Energy Financing (BEF) Scheme requires a process to provide guidance to the consumer on a clear pathway to maximise the energy efficiency of their dwelling. This should clearly set out costs, benefits, priorities and risks in a reliable, consistent and trustworthy manner. The assessment should estimate existing energy costs, and there should be guidance on how much might be saved by undertaking an improvement measure. This is fundamental so as to give consumers the confidence to make informed decisions and also to assist financial institutions in determining the enhanced affordability of potential Scheme loan repayments’
